The aim of this course is to build upon the foundational skills the students have acquired
- Vocabulary Expansion: We will start by building your vocabulary related to the main topics. We will work with flashcards or a vocabulary notebook to jot down new words and phrases for each category. For example, under "friends," you can learn words for different types of friends, emotions, and activities you do with friends.
- Topic-based learning: Focus on specific topics like travel, hobbies or any topic of your preference.
- Grammar: We will begin with the foundational aspects of Greek grammar, including verb conjugation, noun and adjective declension, and sentence structure. Understanding these basics will improve your ability to construct sentences.
- Focus on verbs: Focus on verb conjugations, noun cases, and sentence structure. We will use grammar textbooks or online resources for exercises.
- Reading: We will read short texts or stories related to the main topics. We will start with simple materials and gradually progress to more complex texts. Reading Greek texts will help you improve your comprehension skills and expose you to different sentence structures.
- Listening: We will listen to Greek podcasts, and engage with Greek music. These activities will help you improve your listening skills and expose you to different accents and colloquial expressions.
- Speaking: We will discuss topics related to your interests, such as your favourite sports, travel experiences, or even your profession. Regular speaking practice is essential for improving fluency.
- Introduction to essay writing: You will practice writing short essays or paragraphs about the main topics. For example, describing your favourite clothing items, your home, a memorable celebration, or a recent trip. This will help you reinforce your vocabulary and grammar skills.
Young Learners B2
This level is for learners who have completed Level B1
This course aims to foster overall language proficiency by addressing reading, writing, speaking, and grammar skills while also focusing on vocabulary expansion and providing practical contexts for language use. It also emphasises the ability to engage in conversations with native speakers on various topics, making it a comprehensive language learning experience. This suggests that learners have a good grasp of the language and are able to communicate effectively.
This course will take learners to a higher level of proficiency in Greek, enabling them to handle a broader range of topics and engage in more sophisticated conversations and written communication. The course content is designed to make students well-rounded Greek language users.
Students can expect to learn and develop the following skills and topics:
- Reading and Writing Skills: Further improvement of reading and writing skills, involving more complex texts and writing assignments. This includes reading comprehension exercises, essays, and creative writing.
- Speaking Skills: Continuing to enhance spoken language skills, with a focus on fluency and accuracy. This involves discussions, presentations, and conversations on various topics.
- Grammar Skills: Deepening your understanding of Greek grammar, including more advanced grammar rules and structures.
